General Overview: 12 Palms Recovery Center is a residential-style drug and alcohol rehabilitation center located in Jensen Beach, Florida. At any given time, 12 Palms maintains a census of approximately 12 clients, and is subsequently able to provide more personalized attention to the recovering alcoholic and addict.

Accommodations: The accommodations are situated in a large plantation style house with surrounding cottages on a 10 acre tropical waterfront property. The picturesque and tranquil property affords a large swimming pool, 100 yard boat/fishing dock and most importantly the privacy of a quiet and quaint waterfront area. 12 Palms prides itself on its non-hospital/non-institutional setting.

The house contains originally restored hardwood floors, a bountiful country kitchen, large screened-in 1st and 2nd story porches overlooking the water, spacious bedrooms containing new queen-sized beds for comfort, dining room, and living room with a large flat screen TV with expanded cable a DVD library.

12 Palms boasts a private chef who prepares all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Our chef can accommodate special diets such as diabetic, low-sodium and vegetarian. All meals are prepared on-site, and served family style to promote camaraderie. All clients will meet with our licensed nutritionist. No client ever walks away from our dining room dissatisfied or hungry.

Complimentary laundry service is provided to give our clients one less thing to concern themselves with during recovery.

Typical day at 12 Palms Recovery Center: "They will tell you this program is about taking action and living life on life’s terms. We begin taking action each morning by filling out a daily goals sheet before doing activities in the morning. We all get together before leaving and have a small morning devotional group where we read from books like 24 hours, Daily Reflections, As Bill Sees It, Keep it Simple, Stools and Bottles, or any other motivational books clients or staff may recommend. We go around and talk about what we got out of the reading and then we head out to take on the day.
We head to the gym for an hour or so Mon, Wed, Fri, and sometimes on the weekend. We go to the beach, parks, or fishing on Tues and Thurs, and the staff are always open to new things to do for fun. Since I have been here we have gone to AA functions like Bowling for Big Books, Dances, Sober Softball on Sunday mornings, Kayaking, Ropes Course every Wednesday, Snorkeling, and even gotten to go out to eat. Don’t worry; they don’t force anyone to do anything they don’t want to. They just have faith that you will start living and enjoying life the way you should. I also like the fact that every day we have the opportunity to go to a store to get cigarettes, drinks, food, etc."
